Hammock Project: Hand-Stitched Ornaments (Part 2)

Time to finish up yesterday's hammock project. Here's how:
Tutorial: Ornament Doodles 5
Now comes the part, where you stabilize the ornament with a slightly smaller felt circle. Close it with overcast stitches:

And now you're done.
Stitched Ornament
Make a few. They take a little practice, but they're wonderful gifts.

I also started to experiment with some looser variations of the theme, but that's a different story. This one looks like 4th of July fire works.

Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

  7. So glad I found you here and then got a kick out of it you being in "Upstate NY" (same as Central NY or maybe you are still "downstate" to us in the Hudson River Valley?) Anyway your are in the PERFECT place with all your beautiful hand stitch work and musings! As a thank you gift here is a link to another handstich book my daughter brought me from Japan. 9. Hi Annekata! I've used another one of your beautiful tutorials as inspiration for my holiday crafting! I made a few of these for an ornament swap, and they were quite a hit! I've put pictures on my blog again, if you would like to see! I had a bunch of problems stitching a fairly even circle, but I think this project is pretty forgiving about that.
