Beyond Chocolate: Creating a Story

I love chocolate. Good chocolate that is. The stuff the Mast Brothers craft in an old factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I have yet to try it, but it sounds and looks delicious. What an example of spectacular positioning and marketing!

The video below made by thescoutmag shows how these two create an atmosphere and weave their product into a story. Watch them talk about Mark Twain and hand-crafting, curiosity and sail boats.....so clever! They both look a bit as if they belonged to the Bloomsbury Group. They take care of every detail.

This is so well done that now I have all these images of chocolates and sail boats, beautiful paper wrapping and red beards in my head.....I'm really glad they're only selling chocolate....

What an inspiring way to bring a product to life. Enjoy your weekend!

  2. It reminds me so, so much of those 1870 stills of people captured in their vocations.

But I loved how this little video brought so much light and modernity and meaning behind their snapshot.

    Two amazing things I noticed:
    (1) "...a love affair with craft". Beautiful phrase!
    (2) Beard nets.

definitely passing this along! Thanks, Kathrin!

  6. Thanks so much for sharing this video! It is so magical and romantic. I love how the story runs from their ideas, past the quirky objeda in the shop, right to the beautiful wrapping.

    A great find.
