Dress Form and Chocolate....

Dress Form Finished

The dress form is almost done and let me tell you, it's strange to see a body clone sitting in the corner of the kitchen while cooking dinner. It was me without a head, silver skin and naked and just a bit ...erhhh...deflated.  In case you haven't noticed I don't have the "attributes" of a Pamela Anderson, but I'm not a Keira Knightly either. So use many, many, many small strips to build up the bust line and dress it in a nice outfit before making dinner.

The form is still a bit squishy, because it's not yet fully stuffed.  But I actually like it that way, because it seems very useful to have a softer form. I stuffed it with old sewing patterns, torn into bits. Awful ones from the 80's, picked up for pennies at the local thrift store. It's mounted on an old lamp stand on a plastic pipe with a clothes hanger inserted. Very improvised, but it works.

Thanks for all your great feedback. Now I know! For my next dress form, I'll throw a big party with drinks and chocolate and arrange a different play date for my daughter.

  3. I definitely smiled at the Pam Anderson / Keira Knightly comparisons. Never thought to put them on the ends of a spectrum before.
